Sam Adams founder and Newton resident Jim Koch was invited to have dinner with President Donald Trump and other business leaders Tuesday evening in Bedminster, NJ.

KOCH: I’m not quite sure why I’m here. I’m like the Seen in Newton Centre. Bill Humphrey wants to succeed Ward 5 Councilor John Rice but he’s not just focused this summer on Waban, the Highlands and Upper Falls. The Globe’s Dante Ramos does a good job taking on the bike share critics and explaining why it’s important regionally. A dedicated bus lane, by some estimates, serves about 6,000 people. A bike lane of the same width can serve about 5,200 people. A standard vehicle lane, in contrast, serves 900 cars and trucks an hour — many of which have only one person in them.
