In response to a request by Sallee Lipshutz and thanks to the work of Dan Brody who compiled all this information, we present the Village 14 one stop shopping guide to Tuesday’s Newton elections. *** Added Bonus – Alison Leary who is running unopposed in Ward 1 took the time and trouble to write a Village 14 candidate post. While she missed the November 1 deadline, I thought I’d sneak it in here.
Jennifer Bentley has this earlier post: https://village14.com/2019/05/10/my-name-is-jennifer-bentley-and-i-am-running-for-newton-city-council-ward-2-at-large/#axzz648qAk4iN
Thanks Jack. I’ll add it to the links above.
Thanks, Jerry.
Thanks, Jerry, this is very helpful. Hopefully, no one will give you grief over the order in which candidates for a given seat are listed!
Thank you! I was hoping V14 would provide something like this – it’s a real public service.
I think this is great and should become a tradition.
BTW – While we all lament the Newton Tab just throwing the towel in on covering the upcoming election, I’d like to give a shout out to NewTV.
NewTV has devoted a tremendous amount of time energy and effort covering this election over recent months. In combination with the League of Woman voters they produced and broadcast debates for all contested seats in the election. Week in and week out Jenn Adams and the Newton News crew cover all kinds of Newton news – elections and otherwise
Just this week a NewTV hosted crew recorded the candidate’s Story Slam on Wednesday night. They just finished editing and it should go out on NewTV this evening and be posted on the Newton Nomadic Theater web site and here on Village 14 sometime tomorrow.
Just adding a cross link to the page listing positive endorsements for candidates for reference, as its scrolled well off the home page:

Thanks for providing this listing! I’m voting at City Hall in the morning (absentee ballot).
This is helpful. Thanks for compiling it… akin to a local ballotpedia.
