The two political newcomers running for the Ward 4 Councilor seat, Chris Markiewicz and Allison Sharma, will participate in a community forum on Oct. 24 at Lasell College. The two candidates are vying for the seat being vacated by Jay Harney. While Markiewicz is officially on the ballot, Sharma is running a write-in campaign. The candidates will discuss their backgrounds and their positions on issues salient to Ward 4 and the city. Riverside Development, Traffic, Bike Paths, Housing, the Environment, and City Finances are some of the topics being covered. Assistant Political Science Professor, Paul DeBole, J.D., of Lasell College, will moderate the forum.
The event will be held on Tuesday, October 24th, in Lasell College’s DeWitt Hall. The evening kicks off at 7 pm with socializing, and the candidate forum will run from 7:15 – 8:15 pm.

I’m grateful that the Auburndale Community Library and the Ward 4 Democratic Committee have put this event together. As I’ve been out knocking doors in Ward 4, I’ve come across relatively few voters who’ve have the opportunity to meet both me and my opponent. This will be a great chance to folks to hear from both of us at the same time.
