Dinosaur Rowe LLC has withdrawn its permit application to build a 135-unit affordable housing project on Rowe Street in Auburndale and now says the property will remain in industrial use “for the foreseeable future,” Jonathan Dame of the Newton TAB reports.
Rowe Street 40B project withdrawn by developer

Reading between the lines, my gut feel is that the withdrawn proposal has less to do with fighting the city, and more to do with the fine print in the lease terms with Verizon.
Dinosaur Rowe’s suddenly and completely pulling the application doesn’t pass the sniff test. The developer could’ve compromised to build something plenty big on that property that would’ve made plenty of profit. Financing for such a guaranteed moneymaker should be easy to secure, too.
Blaming the city for everything is merely a convenient, face-saving move.
