Councilors Deb Crossley and Andreae Downs held off a challenge from former Alderman Paul Coletti and will return as Ward 5 councilors at-large in January.

Councilor Crossley was first elected in 2009 in a contested race to fill the vacancy filled when then Alderman Coletti ran for mayor. She has had contested races in three of four elections since. Councilor Downs was first elected in 2017, unseating long-time Alderman and Councilor Brian Yates.

Check that. I think Ward 5 has had contested races in all of the years since Paul Coletti retired.
Ward 5 is a very active place, politically.
