Congratulations to Newton South senior point guard Veronica Burton on breaking South’s scoring record previously held — in a nice twist — by her former coach at Brown Middle School, Katrina Antonellis. The TAB’s Scott Sousa explains.

“I kind of had an inkling in middle school that she was maybe going to be the one,” [Antonellis] remembers thinking. “There have been a couple of others. But when she came through, I would dream of this moment that it was really her.”
It was so exciting to be there and watch both Katrina and Veronica be honored!
Congratulations! Had the pleasure of seeing Veronica play last season. She is fun to watch.
