I’m thankful that the election is over, and that at least one of the new folks that began posting before the election has stuck around (Mary, Mary Quite Contrary). I’m thankful that I’ll be off work until Monday
All of you. And my bikes. And family
Living in a country where I can disagree vehemently with the President or any other elected official and know that I have the right to safely say so as loudly as I want.
I’m thankful for an engaged community. There might be things we dislike and often we disagree, but it’s refreshing to see so many people who care about what goes on.
@Jerry Reilly “and that at least one of the new folks that began posting before the election has stuck around (Mary, Mary Quite Contrary)”
What am I? Chopped liver? Not to disparage chopped liver as I like and am grateful for chopped liver
…and definitely Claire.
I’m also thankful that I have a few days off from moving my car. But you know what would make me more thankful….?? 🙂
The women of the golden circle, in Arthashastrarian effort recognizing not what Newton need not be.
The unlucky 13 villages have evolved into a municipal identity through the application of generational trials, exploring and identifying that which does not work.
This seems like an apt place to convey my message, thanks Greg and for this forum too. I would like to express my appreciation to the Newton community as a whole, for me, politics aside, lol. Sincerely I send peace and love during this holiday and holiday season to the Newton community. I appreciate life itself, living in Newton, the capacity to do things I enjoy, etc. etc. Happy Thanksgiving!
… and as has been noted elsewhere, today I and many of my fellow newton citizens are thankful for pie … in all its many, varied, and delicious forms.
Given that politics are as divisive in Newton as they are at the federal level, I’m thankful for those who engage in good faith debate with integrity. I’m also grateful to those who do not proactively block differing points of view from the conversation, and I appreciate those who do not maliciously call out the motives of those with whom they disagree or cannot understand.
I am grateful that I am here. I am grateful that you are here. I am grateful for an ontological municipal forum premised on processes and pies. I am grateful for family, friends, and fertile feedback that allows us to hear each other, whether 19 or 89. Enjoy the day, Fellow v14ers. See you tomorrow!
I’m thankful for so many things but especially for my family and friends. I’m thankful for the friendly welcome to the community of Newton 10 years ago. I’m thankful for Greg and Shawn’s creating this blog and for my invitation to join the bloggers. I’m thankful for my daughter and son-in-law for cooking a yummy Thanksgiving dinner enjoyed by all of us – particularly for Joe’s homemade rolls.
I needed a break from the crowd before the pie and a slice of my oldest grandkid’s 16th birthday cake so I’m hiding in my room writing on my favorite blog.
Thanks too for all of you.
I am grateful for the honor and privilege of serving this city for the past 14 years.
Thanksgiving dinner at the Lakes Region home of an old Newton friend who moved to New Hampshire a few years back.. Lots of other Newton friends in attendance. Great food, great company and great conversations some of it about Newton; some more worldly and varied.
Ted. I’m grateful for your service, enthusiasm and your willingness to share on this blog. In fact, I give a “tip of the hat” to everyone who toil for this City in the City Council, School Committee and elsewhere. I don’t have to agree with everything they say or do to acknowledge that each is an advocate for what they feel is best for Newton.
Bob, I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why someone would click “thumbs down” on your comment. Who doesn’t like the Lakes Region …or maybe Thanksgiving?
Bruce. Just pray for them. They know not what they do.
