Best campaign sign: Janet Sterman.
As I wrote in a comment, excellent graphical theme and text design. The message — “Change the conversation” — is nicely tied to the speech bubble. Delightful.
When I first came upon this sign a few weeks ago, I jumped out of my car and took a picture. (I parked first!)
Did the sign make me a supporter? Rules say I can’t tell you here. Check the comments.
No.
By my count its the third winner tonight… but just quibbles.
It is an awesome sign. Never saw one on any yard.
Scarcity only increases it’s value!
The takeaway: Be careful what you change the conversation to …
It’s museum piece.
Oops! Misspelled my website. It’s http://www.azukerman.com (not org)
Greg, I hadn’t seen any of her signs until I went through Newton Corner recently and there were a lot. But I don’t think I want to change the conversation to whatever Janet wants to converse about!
You folks are so brave on your keyboards. Sean, Greg, and coward-who-blogs -under-an-alias, would never have the spine to say it to my face. You are TRULY the Village Idiots of Newton.
…and that, my friends, is a person who wants to represent you and our city as a member of the Newton City Council!
@JANET STERMAN um, what? Saying that they oppose you is hardly idiotic.
@Greg Reibman don’t fuel the fire.
Janet,
Next time I see you, I’ll make sure to say it to your face, “I love your signs.” They really are top-notch. If he’s with me, I’ll introduce my son, who was with me when I saw one and stopped to take the picture. He’ll tell you how I explained to him what made the sign so great: typography, graphical theme, tag line.
Good luck today.
Janet Sterman deserves a chance to be elected just like anyone. I have her sign in my yard and I am in Ward 4.
And a very Trumpian response from Janet!
It takes a special type of person to insult someone, unprovoked, on an important day to them. I don’t mean that in a good way.
Tom,
Who exactly are you calling out? Asking for a friend.
Do you recall me asking for vote Greggie? Yea, me neither. You will likely have to pay someone to represent you. I hear Hess-Mahan will have some free time in 55 days. 😀
LOL, Janet.
Still not going to miss you when I retire from public service. 😉
Hey everybody, be nice. … as it said on a post at the start of the day.
Ted, I am going to miss your wit and wisdom terribly. I’ve been honored to live in Ward 3, and, no matter what your title, you have been my WARD Councilor. Thank you for your years of service to this City.
Wow, that escalated quickly!
Best of luck to all the candidates. And I did think Janet’s signs were terrific, to bring it back to the topic of the post. I admire great design.
@ Teddie
When are you moving again? 😀 LOL!
Oh, it’s all right to call everybody who doesn’t agree with you an idiot. Donald Trump did it – and became President of the United States! Now he can start World War 3 by insulting that fat Korean kid. Whatever people do for fun!
