The Newton Council on Aging is sponsoring an Open House a the Senior Center on Oct. 24 (7:30 to 9:00 p.m.) with the 2017 At-Large City Councilor Candidates who are in contested races for election on Nov. 7. All thirteen candidates who are in contested races have been invited to participate. The Open House will offer an opportunity to hear directly from each candidate about their vision for an age-friendly community and their views on topics that are most relevant to senior residents and their families. Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend.

The program will involve:

  1. A short “panel” introductory session
  2. Break-out sessions on specific issues
  3. Wrap-up plenary session on what was learned about the candidates and their positions on the issues.
