Congratulations and good luck Jonathan!
I knew we wouldn’t be able to hold onto Jonathan indefinitely, but it’s still sad to see him leave. He is an excellent reporter and listener. I know Andy will miss him. I sensed they worked well together.
There is nothing like a Dame! I will miss this excellent journalist who has helped Newtonites to keep fair Tabs on wassup locally.
That did not take long. Totally expected. Congratulations Jonathan. I predict a Wall Street Journal or New York Times byline is in the future.
Very fortunate to have had Jonathan for almost two years. Excellent reporter and we all will miss him.
What Bob said. I knew this day was coming as he is too talented to not move up the food chain but still so sad to lose him. Will anyplace he goes be as interesting as Newton? I DOUBT IT. Good luck Jonathan!
I’ve told Jonathan often over the last year + how impressed I’ve been with the way he handles a story. He does his homework in great depth and well represents all sides. I will miss that. (although i’m sure TAB will hire a wonderful replacement)
Johnathan Dame has been an asset to the Newton Tab and all of Newton. His reporting went above and beyond that usually found in small newspapers. Great interactive maps too. I have been certain over the past 2 years that he was headed for bigger things. I wish him all the best but regret his leaving.
What a shame, Jonathan does excellent work! I agree with others who said he clearly has a bright future ahead of him.
Jonathan does his homework, asks good questions, provides balanced coverage, shows up and writes well: a great reporter! We’ll miss you in Newton ….
Congratulations! You have done excellent reporting for the Tab. You will be missed.
Eight comments earlier than this one, in this thread, I should have indicated in quotation marks “There is nothing like a Dame!” It never occurred to me that the other authors and readers testifying to Jonathan’s bemoaned departure from the Tab wouldn’t have a clue why I said that. Hammerstein’s nearly 60 year old lyrics have been rumbling through my septuagenarian mind since I first heard them some fifty years ago and I employed them above, mistakenly without attribution, to their origins in South Pacific! (Google that if you still don’t get it!) A poor pun that belonged in another generation, but was truly well meant!
