Former state treasurer and 2014 candidate for governor Steve Grossman told the State House News Service that he would back Setti Warren’s run for governor, should the mayor decide to run.
From the story:
“I will support Setti for governor 100 percent” if he decides to run, Grossman said. He said, “I like Setti. I believe in Setti. He has been an outstanding mayor. I think he did what he said he was going to do.”
Personally, I’ll support anyone who runs against that union busting, job killing moron who currently occupies the Governor’s office. But I have a hard time sharing Grossman’s enthusiasm for Setti. Sure, he’s been a decent mayor–maybe even a good mayor… but “outstanding”? Give me a break!
In addition to my post from last week:
“For the (Planning) Department, the key areas of leadership, management, goal setting, issue management, core processes, training, institutional knowledge, use of technology, and communications are all suboptimal,” the report states. “While work gets done, the culture is strained, efficiency is lacking, and the related vision of the City is difficult to achieve.” (Read more: http://newton.wickedlocal.com/news/20160713/updated-report-labels-newton-planning-department-inefficient.)
Based on the information that I’m gathering, the issues that exist at the Planning Department are just as persistent across the board. It’s the job of the Mayor to work with everyone to address these issues as that is how our community lives up to its full potential.
I would love to hear more about how Steve Grossman came to the conclusion that Mayor Warren is an outstanding Mayor.
