At the risk of making Greg Reibman blush, I’m going to take one more shot at this and then I’ll leave it alone. I’ve lived in this city for nearly 54 years, and followed local politics closely for the past 25+. Some V14 readers may remember that I got 42% of the vote against a two term incumbent mayor in 2005. So I’d like to think I have a good understanding of what the mayor’s job entails, and the perspective of having seen both good and bad mayors over the years…
While I do believe there are many Newtonians capable of being a good mayor, there is one person I’m certain has the background and skill set to be a great mayor. That person is Greg Reibman, and I want to encourage him to get in this race…
Greg has run a large company, and his management skills are unquestionable. As head of the Chamber of Commerce, Greg has earned the respect of business leaders. He knows all the players in local politics, and is familiar with every issue. And Greg has also been largely responsible for giving us all this incredibly valuable community forum known as Village 14. In my opinion, Greg has the perfect experience and people skills to lead the city of Newton. I hope others will encourage him to run.
What Mike said. In addition to his experience and knowledge, Greg’s a terrific manager. He’d make a great chief executive for Newton.
