My gravatar says it all.
I am happy about the MA ballot question results.
Hopeless.
Disgusted
Disbelief
I’m ready to wake up now. Anytime now. Pinching myself, nothing happening.
I think we all just learned a hard lesson about how important it is to improve public school education in the US. Unfortunately, a large chunk of the electorate is just plain stupid. I’m proud of the people of Massachusetts though, who pulled the plug on a century of misguided marijuana policy. If there’s a silver lining in all of this, the ballot initiatives are it.
Baffled. Guess I’d better find a new paper bag to wear over my head next time I travel outside the country.
To me what’s most amazing about this election is the colossal, across-the-board polling failure, including by right-leaning pollsters. Are we entering an era in which public opinion is so complex and volatile that it cannot be estimated with any reliability?
Yes on question 4! Really happy about that. Similar measures also passed in California, Nevada and Maine. Looks like it’s becoming a done deal for the country as a whole.
I’d like to thank any and all people who did more than talk politics and went out to volunteer for their respective candidate, you made the political system proud!!! Taking time away from family and friends is a big sacrifice. Thanks for getting involved.
May the NDCC, CC, and League reassess their perception of the local political landscape.
@Harry: How’s that? Newton went solidly blue and that is the Newton Dem City Committee’s “political landscape.”
And the Newton League’s mission is to engage voters and I certainly think Newton voters were engaged.
We should take a look at the town by town breakdown of election results. Massachusetts was not as blue as you might think: http://www.wbur.org/politicker/2016/11/08/massachusetts-election-map
25% of municipalities in Mass. chose Trump over Clinton
Thank God the sleazy Clintons are not back in the White House.
@Greg: Maybe Harry is talking about the folks in Newton who comprise a good portion of voters who don’t normally participate and are not on an “identified” list.
