I jus can’t ge excited about this. Traffic is horrible over there. I dread going over there. For a 10 minute errand you have to allocate a 1/2 hr because it takes 20 minutes to get down the road and this isn’t even during rush hour. I just can’t imagine what they could do to improve traffic for all this new building. The potential for increase to the schools mentioned need to be watched closely because this is the same area where they have been playing musical chairs with the kids. First Countryside was overcrowded then kids were moved to Bowen and it became overcrowded then they moved them to Mason-Rice which is 509 kids. They are building the new Zervas to alleviate the existing overcrowding in this area. Elementary schools over 500 just too big. School communities are a powerful way to make people feel connected in our city and when schools get too large it is hard to do that.
We are allowing , encouraging the development industry to exploit our community to the detriment of all that is good here. Too much traffic, too many kids in our schools, too many trees lost, too great a strain on the infrastructure of the city. And to who’s benefit ? Follow the money !
