The front of City Hall has been lit up since 6/2. Guessing that this was an additional gesture in lieu of the tragedy in Orlando.
My theory is that it’s a practical joke about the recent water fountain issues.
Actually lets hope it is not a joke about LEAD in our schools. That is a serious issue.
I’m sure Randy is right but I must say that Shira’s theory made me laugh (sorry Joanne)
The fountain has been lit up in varying shades of orange and yellow for several weeks.
The orange stands for gun violence awareness.
Whew. Thanks for the response Heather and everyone else. And I’m relived it isn’t in honor of Donald Trump’s hair!
Randy, Heather are correct
June 2 was National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Orange is the symbolic color because it is what hunters wear to protect themselves. If anyone is interested in learning more: http://wearorange.org/about/
Rather ironic that Trump tends toward a shade of orange. But I’m convinced it’s simply a toupee and a poor choice of spray tan.
Oops…did not see that Randy had posted the link already! Apologies!
