Every few months we like to remind folks how easy it is to attach your profile photo to your blog comments? Here’s how:
Go to gravatar.com and create what is known as an avatar. The email address you use to post comments here must be the same as the email address you use when you sign up for an avatar on Gravatar.
Gravatar, it is easy, free, quick and we are not aware of any problems with it. no spam, no identity issues, nothing. But it is a third party site.
You don’t HAVE to use that site, you can use whatever one you wish, you can Google “avatar” and choose.

Thanks for the great tip. Our workplace has recently installed Gravatar as our comments system last month and we’ve already found it’s reduced spam comments to almost zero. This saves us a ton of time every morning.
Another interesting plus we’ve noticed since installing Gravatar is that our readers appear to be self moderating their comments more before posting. It seems people are a lot nicer to each other when they know you can see them via their profile picture!
