The distraught family of an Upper Falls man who has been missing since Monday notified Newton Police this afternoon that he has been found. The missing person, whose name is being withheld to spare his spouse and child from further humiliation, returned home late Friday with no clue that anyone had been searching for him.
He was apparently holed up all week inside an old abandoned stone building at Hemlock Gorge, near Route 9, Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker reports.
“He says he was busy making up fake news stories for an April Fools Day edition of some local blog and lost track of the time,” said Apotheker. “Really, you’d think people might have more important things to do.”
