Soon-to-be-City Council President Scott Lennon has announced the committee assignments for 2016, including a few interesting changes. Here’s the full list.
And here’s a summary of the changes:

Programs & Services: John Rice is the new chair. Alison Leary is the new vice chair. Auchincloss replaces Emily Norton. Greg Schwartz replaces Dick Blazar.
Public Facilities: No change
Public Safety: Blazar is new vice chair. Â Norton replaces Marcia Johnson.
Zoning and Planning:Â Ted Hess Mahan is new chair, Albright replaces Johnson
(I don’t think I missed anything but please correct me if I did.
No Chairs or vice chairs in ward 8? Wow.
Tom, Cheryl Lappin from Ward 8 is the Vice President of the City Council.
Ted,
Scott is President and has ciccone and leary as a chair and vice chair respectively. Why not give lipof or kalis one of those?
@Tom. Clearly it’s time for Ward 8 to succeed from Newton after this momentous insult. You should start the petition drive and then some one else will take it over in a few years and grab all the glory!
See you at Oak Hill Park Village Day comrade!
What is the real story with Land Use? Maybe a blog is not the place to find out. Two years ago, Ted was kicked off out as Land Use Chair. It seemed like (in my eyes) retribution for his mayor run. Was it? If so, why the turn around?
Jeffrey – Land Use remains the same and Ted is chair of Zoning and Planning.
People complain about the lack of change on the City Council, then complain when a change is made. The Council Chair has to make some tough decisions and not everyone is going to be happy. Overall, the assignments look fine.
I am curious about L. Baker, no chair or vice chair and no power comm. assignments. Is he in the dog house?
Greg,
Just wondering, on you’re resume, under special skills, did you put snarky there?
If you are upset at not having a village day in Oak Hill Park, blame the Mayor.
Oh that’s right he’s in Vegas.
No, no let’s blame Reibman.
Oh he’s on the blog.
