Tonight’s scheduled meeting with Dori Zaleznik to hear about the city’s plans to finish the Greenway has been cancelled (by the city). There won’t be any city representatives showing up.

Was there a reason given?

I can’t speak to why the meeting was cancelled but I did reach out to Dori to understand their view on the project. She was quite definitive that they had
pledged that the project will be finished. She let
me know that she and the Mayor had spoken to the head of the Upper Falls Area Council prior to the meeting and asked that this info be Communicated. Seems like they had an unexpected conflict that night but are committed to the project. I don’t have details on timing yet.
Thanks for the update David! I hope it gets completed.
Is Facebook now a qualified place for government announcements? j/k
Marti – That wasn’t a government announcement on Facebook. The Upper Falls Area Council was the host of the meeting. The city let the council know that she couldn’t attend, the council let various interested groups know including the Friends of the Upper Falls Greenway, and the Friends posted that on Facebook.
As it turned out, with the last minute cancellation, depite emails, Facebook, etc, quite a few supporters of the Greenway did turn up that night.
Jerry, I guess I need to be more clear, but the j/k after my comment means just kidding. I use a Sarcasm Warning emoji most places but it won’t work here.
@Marti – sorry, I guess I was a bit slow on the uptake there.
