Any predictions?
I’ll go out on a limb and say that at least one Ward 2 incumbent is feeling very shaky right now. They have a lot of work to do between now and Nov. 3.
Seems so far incumbent backlash, such as it is, is strongest in Ward 2 itself.
I agree with you Gail.
I think the low turnout, although most primary’s in a non mayoral election are pretty low, might be because with only one candidate being eliminated most voters I’ve talked to are pretty sure it will be Jess Barton whether they voted or not. I think Jake will come in higher than at least one incumbent.
The results are out. My prediction was, most votes to least, Albright, Johnson, Auchincloss, LeBlanc, and Barton. I won’t bore you with the exact proportions (but yes, I wrote them down). I like Auchincloss and LeBlanc. Jake did much better than I expected. I think everyone can say he busted his butt for this. In retrospect, I overestimated the power of the in-crowd email list. Also, I thought Barton would have had more votes. My November prediction is that 80% of the Barton supporters will migrate to Auchincloss or LeBlanc. I predict that Albright-Johnson support will ramp up. November will be an exciting race. Whatever the outcome, I think it will be a lot closer than this one.
