Your regional Sunday news has gotten a makeover.

Dear Globe reader,

We’re excited to announce that coming this Sunday, October 5, The Boston Globe is introducing new and more robust regional sections. We’ve completely redesigned Globe West, Globe South, and Globe North to focus more than ever on providing you with in-depth local news coverage as well as getting you the stories from your community that will inspire you, entertain you, and get you talking. These new sections will combine content from our previous Thursday and Sunday sections so you have one weekly go-to guide for your community. Please note that this week will be the final Thursday zoned issue but you’ll continue to enjoy savings from your favorite retailers with inserts still appearing every Thursday and Sunday.

Here’s what you can expect in your new expanded weekly regional section:
* Full page of local opinions featuring columns like The Argument and The Big Question as well as your comments
* Arts and event guide that rounds up profiles of local businesses, restaurant reviews, community events, and more
* Expanded sports coverage focusing on the high school scene, local athletes making their mark as collegians, and how to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle through recreation
* Police blotter that highlights odd or interesting incidents from local police logs

We hope you love your new weekly regional section. Please email us at [email protected] or call us at 1-888-MYGLOBE (1-888-694-5623) to let us know what you think and how we’re doing so we can continue to give you the best regional news coverage possible.

Best,

Leslie Anderson
