Please take a look at Maura Healey’s website and read this Campaign Commentary written by Rick Holmes, a writer for the Daily News and MassPoliticalNews.

Mr. Holmes provides an excellent summation of the race and the differences between the two candidates.
Please vote for Maura Healey on September 9th.
I have joined Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone , Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian and four former MA Attorney Generals: Francis Bellotti, Scott Harshbarger, Thomas Reilly and James Shannon on Team Tolman! The count on this race will be a total nail biter to the very end on Tuesday. Please vote!
A vote for Tolman is a vote for a de facto ban on guns in this state. His fingerprint lock technology does not exist in any sort of marketable form in this country, so I am guessing that only lowly civilians will be subject to this MANDATE… not the police or Tolman’s security team.
One would think that a candidate would be familiar with DC v. Heller, but given that Tolman is obviously an extremist, I guess I am not shocked.
I feel the Atty General position needs the skill-set to understand and follow pre-existing state and Federal law done to the letter, and the special skill to place themselves in a resident shoes and advocate for them at a very high level. My vote will be with Maura Healey.
I’m sure that the AG’s office already has more skillful attorneys than it needs to argue precise points of law . Everything in the article that Amy linked to validated my choice of Warren Tolman. I find the idea of an activist AG with political connections AND media savvy very appealing. It takes advocacy to a higher level . Since they’re both the same on the issues, execution is the definer. I find Tolman’s ballsy promises about gun control highly appealing. Let his staff figure out how to achieve it under existing law. It sounds like Tolman has the connections to influence legislators to possibly strengthen laws. I had never heard of Maura Healy prior to this election.
Nationally, I wish that Eric Holder was more of an activist. He’s supposedly very passionate about the issues surrounding Ferguson, but isn’t getting much media.
My goodness, what Karen and Janet said!
Tolman on Tuesday.
Maura Healey has already been a leader in the AG’s office; Warren Tolman has no such experience. Anybody can talk the activist talk and threaten to take on big special interests. I’m more interested in who knows how that office works, what the tools are, what the limitations are, what’s worth taking on and how to do it. And who has a track record of doing it.
Healey has run the civil rights division, she’s taken on Wall St banks, and she won the first challenge to DOMA in the nation. Maura Healey is one of the big reasons that Massachusetts has marriage equality.
I like that she’s been a prosecutor – I think that is a good background for an AG. I like that she created the HomeCorps program which protected a lot of people from unfair foreclosures. I think that demonstrated an ability to innovate.
I’m with her on the casino’s issue as well. She was the first state-wide candidate to oppose the expansion of the Tennessee Gas Pipeline. She’s strong on women’s reproductive rights.
Planned Parenthood, Mass Equality, Emily’s List and the Boston Globe have all endorsed her.
And having played a bit of basketball in my day, I like having a playmaker in the AG’s office.
To me, it’s a clear call. Maura Healey for Attorney General.
In an effort to be educated about the choices, one thing that has stood out for me that I have been unable to get clear on is Mr. Tolman’s support of casino gambling. The morality aside, it incubates crime. A strange position for a candidate for AG.
The casino issue will be established law or defeated by referendum on Nov. 4th, therefore the new AG will have no say in the matter whatsoever. I do see it as a more significant issue for discussion in the Governor’s race and of some importance in the Lt. Governor’s race. But it’s still not a gating item for me for any candidate, given that we have a referendum vote that decides the matter.
Maura Healey has the experience and leadership skills ready to take on the role to run “the people’s law firm”. Maura’s extensive experience includes serving as Chief of the Civil Rights Division and directing the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau and the Business and Labor Bureau with the Attorney General’s office.
Maura led the nation’s first successful challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act, took on subprime lenders recovering millions on behalf of Massachusetts homeowners, and defended the Massachusett’s Buffer Zone law protecting women’s access to reproductive health care.
Maura is facing a formidable opponent who has had a distinguished career as a State Representative, a State Senator and has run for Lt. Governor and Governor in the past. While both are progressive Democrats, there are two areas where they greatly differ. Maura is vocally opposed to casinos while her opponent is in favor. Maura doesn’t believe the role of the Attorney General should be focused on policy but rather enforcing the laws that protect our rights.
This may be one of the tightest elections this year. I ask for your support.and hope you can help the campaign.
Please vote for Maura Healey on Tuesday, September 9th.
I think the Globe got the endorsement right:

Maura is the better choice.
