Congressman Joe Kennedy announced will be hosting a Twitter Town Hall on today (Monday, December 9 from 1:30PM to 2:30PM). Participants can tweet questions to the Congressman (@RepJoeKennedy) using the hashtag #KennedyChat. The Congressman’s office has been collecting questions over the course the past week, as well as during Monday’s Town Hall.
“Accessibility remains this office’s top priority,” said Congressman Kennedy. “Our very first Twitter Town Hall will ensure that constituents across the 4th District can engage directly with me and my office without leaving their living room. It is the latest step in our efforts to find new and dynamic ways to connect with the people, families and communities we are proud to represent.”
I was initially very enthusiastic about his candidacy, because I have enormous respect for his father. My family even hosted one of his campaign workers who came here from California. But as a candidate, Kennedy came out in opposition to legalized medical marijuana. So I couldn’t in good conscience vote for him. After he was elected, Kennedy became the only member of the Massachusetts congressional delegation to vote in favor of the NSA spying on law abiding American citizens. At that point he completely lost me. I really dislike phony liberals, and that’s how I view him. I’m glad to read that he’s trying to “connect with the people.” But I think he needs to take a good look in the mirror, and figure out what the heck he stands for.
