Newton Mayor Setti Warren and challenger Alderman Ted Hess-Mahan on Tuesday Oct. 29 will debate at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The 90 minute debate can be seen live on NewTV and online at NewTV.org and Village14.com. It will also be available on a repeat schedule later in the week and posted online.
There’s a really good debate taking place on NewTV right now. All three Newton journalists — Evan Allen from Globe West, Trevor Jones from the TAB and Jenn Adams from NewTV — are asking great questions.
I’m happy about the mayor bringing up trees!
Ted just gave a little more specifics than I’ve heard before about three of the six Austin Street proposals not meeting the required specs, e.g. one is too tall — pretty basic! Does anyone know offhand which are the three, and why are they still apparently going to be part of tomorrow night’s presentation? Why are they not already eliminated?
Fantastic Debate. Two top tier candidates going at it.
I was disappointed with many of Mayor Warren’s responses. He was tap dancing instead of answering the questions (so typical of our politicians these days in Newton, Boston, and DC). Ted’s answers contained much more relevant information. While I do not agree with many of his positions, I do appreciate and respect his willingness to state where he stands on difficult issues.
