Creative r us

Newton is populated almost entirely of individuals classified as the “creative class,” according to an article posted on The Atlantic Cities and reported this morning by Melanie Graham at Newton Patch.

The creative class includes individuals who “work in science and technology, business and management, arts, culture media and entertainment, and law and healthcare professions,” according to the article.

The three Newton areas that top the list of creative class locations are made up of 80 percent or more creative class residents, and are located between Newton Centre, Newton Highlands and Waban.

    Gee, Greg, I would expect that, as a blogger residing in one of these neighborhoods, you would have added something of your own creative spin to the reporting of this news. 😉

    Oops, now I’m guilty of the same. I feel like one of the monks in that old story…

    Four new monks vowed to live in silence.
    After a week, the first monk noted, “We’ve been silent for over a week!”
    The second monk then said to the first, “You shouldn’t have spoken!”
    The third monk then said to the second, “Now you’ve spoken, too!”
    …
    After a moment, the fourth monk said to no one in particular, “I’m the only one who hasn’t spoken yet.”

    Does this include the half of newton that contribute nothing to society whilst spending their days driving from store to store in their land rovers?
