I had a pretty bad cold for about five days over Christmas in Maine. My sister said more people had it after I left, but no one who had gotten the flu shot got it. But we don’t think what we had was bad enough to be the flu. (I’ve heard that if you get the flu, you know it.) So I’m not sure what that pattern means. But after the recent coverage, I’m getting a flu shot on Tuesday. Would have done it sooner, but thought I had last fall. Turns out it was fall 2011. Oops.
Our whole house (3 of us) got hit right after Christmas. Boston, SF and Winter Haven (FL) offices of my company have also had a lot going around, as well as the office of a client I visited earlier this week. It’s everywhere.
What I had wasn’t the nastiest (no stomach bug, mild fever), but it knocked me out for the better part of 3 days
I had what it sounds like Doug had (fever, aches, headache, etc) and it put me out of commission last weekend. If that’s the worst of it, I think I got off easy.
Just waiting for some loser to say they never get the flu because they never get a flu shot.
