Village 14 has heard from several sources that former Newton School Committee vice chair Reenie Murphy is moving into City Hall as the mayor’s new executive assistant. She is taking over the position that was previously held by Pat Johnson and Megan Costello.

Murphy, a supporter of Warren’s from the start and a Ward 2 resident,  left the School Committee at the end of 2011 after serving four consecutive terms, the maximum allowed by the city charter.  She previously worked at Nativity Prep as an executive assistant.

The mayor’s office has not confirmed this news. But they haven’t denied it either…

We’d like to be the first to congratulate Reenie on her new post and Mayor Warren for hiring her. Good luck Reenie! You’ll be a great addition to the crew!
