I am riding for the 5th time. Riding in memory of my father and father-in-law, and in honor of so many friends who are touched by cancer.
It’s a great event, and the PMC folks have managed to arrange things so that donations to riders are passed through 100% to Dana Farber. Looking forward to this weekend!
My link, should anyone feel moved to sponsor: http://bit.ly/pmcdoug
I am also riding in my fifth PMC, although it’s been a few years since I last participated. I rode in my first PMC six months after my father died from brain cancer and I was blown away by the level of passion, dedication and support demonstrated by PMC cyclists, volunteers and spectators. There’s nothing else like it! Here’s my link. Thanks!
My brother and I started riding the PMC in 1984 on a lark, as we were drawn to a biking adventure. Since that time cancer has touched our lives too many times and in too many ways to detail, and the ride has become a poignant imperative.
For the last two years, we have been part of a small group of riders who have been partnered with Hannah Hughes, a nine-year old girl in treatment at Dana Farber. She has a variety of leukemia that took most children 5 years ago but is largely curable today based upon the work taking place at Dana Farber and other research and treatment facilities. She supports us and we support her!
To be part of this important work and to help Hannah and her peers, please contribute to my ride via this link: http://www.pmc.org/profile/SS0008
Thank you!
