Following Kara Robbins big scoop that , Jake’s Falafel Corner was moving out of the Sandwich Works on Beacon Street, Wendy Schapiro from Newton Patch breaks this news….
While he can’t share the exact location “until the ink is dry,” Jake wants everyone to know that Jake’s Falafel will be remaining in Newton Centre and will be serving the same creative cuisine for which he is now known.
Thanks Greg! I have to tell you, after trying Jake’s falafel, if I had had to report that he didn’t have a new location or that we’d all have to live falafel-free for an extended period of time, there would have been some serious tears.
Great news! And I loved reading about the changes Jake has made over the years to strive for work/family balance.
Glad to hear that Jake’s is staying somewhere in the NC neighborhood. Still, I hope that the reprieve for this one business doesn’t cause the aldermen to drop the ball on a discussion of food trucks. Certainly there are ways (e.g., a limit on hours?) to allow mobile businesses to compete fairly with stationary ones. And when times are tough, this option could be a godsend to people with the requisite skills but without the resources for a restaurant start-up.
