A new restaurant called Farmstead Table is planning to open on Union Street, taking over the former India Paradise spot, according to Zagat. (Via Boston Restaurant Talk).

Greg, on June 12, the Land Use Committee will also be holding public hearings on two other restaurants looking to open in Newton Centre.
Well that’s as clear as mud. How can the average hungry person know who is planning what from reading that?
Sorry. You can find the 411 on the special permit webpage. Click on the plans and other materials submitted for 47-61 Langley Road -#136-12 and
753A-753 Beacon St – #134-12.
The first restaurant is Terry O’Reilly’s Pub (no relation to the former Boston Bruin) which is where Sabra’s restaurant is now on Langley Road. Same owners as Sabra are seeking to expand the restaurant to 99 seats and convert it into a “village pub.”
The other restaurant is Ten Tables, which is owned by David Punch, who is the owner and chef of Ten Tables restaurant in Cambridge. He is proposing a 48 seat restaurant. The location is the site of the former John Dewar grocery store on Beacon Street that moved to Wellesley.
The Pub seems strange to me as a concept, and another pub is opening in Newtonville this summer in the old C’Tsars space. the 10 tables news is awesome. Just really great to hear. Love that place. Great concept. And it started in JP, no?
@fignewtonville,
why is “pub” strange as a concept in Newton? We have quite a few very successful ones here already.
Now, if you’re questioning whether there’s enough appetite for more pubs here, that’s a different angle.
Should have been more specific. Calling it Terry O-Reilly’s but not after the Bruins player, and having some holdovers from the old Sabra. Just a bit strange…
I’ll be happy to check it out. Nothing against pubs. Looking forward to the one in Newtonville, even though Brewer’s Collective sounds a bit strange for a name. Doesn’t roll off the tongue.
Hopefully the beer will good in both places!
