Last night, came upon this a cappella group In Newton Centre singing to a bride and groom and a small wedding party. We stood around and listened for a few songs and then left. I didn’t get any information.
Mini wedding concert in Newton Centre

Way cool! Thanks for posting this.
We went to my nephew’s wedding a couple of years ago in Waltham. He’s in an a cappella group called Similar Jones that plays around Boston. Halfway through the wedding reception, the groom and half the wedding party started singing a cappella to the bride.
I’m sorry I missed this impromptu concert last night.
A childhood friend of mine sang with an a cappella group too … her first date with her (now) husband of almost 21 years was marked by recording a duet by one of those “studios on the boardwalk” … to which they danced their First Dance. Her group entertained the guests thru out dinner and then part way through, she got up and joined them and serenaded her new husband to “The Still of the Night” … clearly, after 21 years, it is still so memorable to me.
I, too, am sorry to have missed this impromptu concert. I wish all the best to the lucky couple.
Interestingly, yesterday we celebrated my wife Betsy’s birthday [she won’t let me say which one] by having an a capella group perform in our home. It was a lot of fun, and they were terrific.
Here’s link to their website for anyone interested:

We were lucky to stroll by the bridal party on a walk from Newtonville Books to Cupcake on Centre (plug for Newton independent businesses), and heard the singing and clapping. The group is from University of New Hampshire, and were hired by the bride to sing.
After the bride and groom left, we asked them to sing an encore. They were reluctant at first, but three teens offered them a box of donuts for a song. There were 9 in the acapella group, and there was an even dozen donuts.
Everyone got a donut and the group serenaded us.
Very fun.
