“Defending Jacob,” the third novel by Newton crime writer William Landay (his blog is here) is set in the Garden City and debuted at No. 4 on the New York Times best seller list in late January.

Warner Bros. has just optioned the story for a feature film.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I knew nothing about this book until a friend told me about it today (clearly I need to read Newton Culture Fix more carefully), adding that it is chock full of Newton references. I’ve just uploaded it onto my Ipad, so please no spoliers.  But if you’ve read it, let us know what you thought.
