Nearly 20 years after the 1993 explosion of the H.C. Starck company in Newton badly injured firefighter Ray McNamara and nine others, Ray pinned a badge on his grandson, Jeffery McNamara, this week making him the newest addition to the Watertown Fire Department.
Please take a few minutes to read the story about this amazing Newton family from this week’s Watertown TAB and another story from Patch.
.
Great story about a great family. (Jeffrey is Ray’s grandson, not son.)
Thanks Tricia, fixed….and I agree.
Thanks Greg for Posting this.
A nice and heroic ending to a tragic event.
@Bob: Not sure I agree. With this circle of public service, and the potential for risk every day, there is no “ending” to what the McNamaras and the families of other public safety workers do for our communities.
