Interesting that there was no mention of the new Wegmans that would be eligible for a beer and wine license. I wonder if Wegmans will have the same outcome or if they have already negotiated for a license.

Kim, I couldn’t agree with you more. I don’t shop at either Urban Grape or at Shaw’s, so I guess I don’t have a dog in this fight. Nonetheless, the entire system of liquor regulation is arcane, archaic and ridiculous. The straw-men of “protecting small (local) business” and “under-staffing in the evening hours” are ludicrous fig leaves for the bag job perpetrated by a gutless Licensing Commission.
