From Newton Patch.
A number of items were stolen from a group of swimmers who were at Cronin’s Cove (Crystal Lake) late Friday night. According to police reports, the swimmers were in the water between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. The group left their bags, wallets and some clothes on the shore…..
I would hope they received a ticket along with a copy of their statement.
Further expanding the list of risks one assumes there.
I’m still not sure how police write a ticket to someone who may or may not have ID with them, since they’re not driving, and may or may not give their real name, but according to the Tab it’s being done for bicyclists, so maybe it will work for swimmers:

Maybe the items were stolen by someone who was annoyed there wasn’t any room to sit on the benches 😉
Julia Malakie is very right. Unless Mayor Warren wants to require citizenship papers for anyone on city property, code enforcement for bikers, swimmers and those that do whatever else offends him will be uneven at best. The ACLU should take a look at this before we actually are asked to carry papers
