Although I don’t recall seeing a story about the Congressional race in the Newton TAB yet, the contest is getting some attention in Israel where the Jerusalem Post reports there is growing concern among the district’s significant Jewish population about the candidacy of Ihssane Lecky for supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel.
“Ihssane Leckey is one of the most strongly anti-Israel candidates on the ballot anywhere in the country this year,” Democratic Majority for Israel spokesperson Rachel Rosen told JNS.
People interested in this aspect of the race should read the comment thread in response to Leckey’s column on this blog.

Just one clarification, the TAB did run one article about this contest.
Promoting an endorsement from Rep. Omar known for her Anti-Semitic remarks against American Jews and Israel isn’t a help in one of the most heavily Jewish districts in the Country.
On this I agree with Peter, an endorsement from Rep. Omar would seem to do more harm than good, especially in Newton, Needham and Brookline. Some of Rep. Omar’s rhetoric has been very divisive (and anti-Semitic).
Rep Pressley’s endorsement would hold a lot more value to me. But I don’t believe this candidate has it.
Also, is she the one that self-funded to a huge degree? Or do I have that confused?
I’m all for progressive candidates, but there are some other great choices in the race for that.
Not commenting on the substance, but just a reminder that in an eight candidate contest you don’t need a majority, just more votes than anyone else. Having unique positions that might be shared by “enough voters” rather, than “most” voters is all you need.
Again, not commenting on the content or making predictions.
@Greg rest assured that Leckey’s positions will not have her finishing in the top four.
