Anybody who knows Charlie Shapiro knows that he was born to run. And this week he officially started running for Governor’s Council, representing Newton and a whole lot of other places.
Charlie Shapiro makes it official: He’s running for Governor’s Council

I’m glad to see someone is willing to take on the incumbent, Devaney. She’s been an embarrassment.
The problem with this kind of race, though, is that virtually no one even knows what the Governor’s Council is about.
@Dan. Charlie campaigns with the highest intensity of any candidate I have ever observed. By the end of this campaign, every voter in this Council District will know more than they have ever known before about what the Governor’s Council is all about. I’m glad he’s going for it and I think he’s got a good shot at winning.
There’s plenty of competition;
The Democratic Primary will have the incumbent Devaney of Watertown, Charley Shapiro of Newton and Harry Margolis of Brookline. And in the General Election, Tom Sheff of Newton.
Charlie is a committed public servant, and I am sure he will serve this office with distinction, whatever the heck it is 🙂
