The annual Newton Mayor’s Community Breakfast has a new location (it’s moved from Boston College to the Marriott) and a revised name (“prayer” has been replaced with “community”) but it’s still likely to be the place to see and be seen for anyone involved in civic life and/or local politics. It’s happening Friday May 31, 7-9:15 a.m. at the Marriott
Two student members of the Newton Youth Commission — Julia Geller, a senior at Newton South and Nathan Persampieri, a senior Newton North — are the keynote speakers. The breakfast will also feature readings from an interfaith representation of clergy, musical performances from Newton Public School students, and the presentation of awards, including the annual Mayor Mann Community Service Awards, Rotary Club of Newton Anthony J. Bibbo scholarships, and the Harmony Foundation’s Setti D. Warren Humanitarian Award.
This is not a Newton-Needham Chamber event but the chamber is assisting the Harmony Foundation with online ticket sales ($25) and you can reserve yours here.
