VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
Today, August 15th is the very last day to register to vote for the September Primary. Please be sure to register. Tuesday, September 4th (YES the day after Labor Day) is the date for the primary elections. Full disclosure, I am a life-long Democrat. But what’s most important to me is that everyone, EVERYONE, go out and exercise their right to vote (I’m so disheartened when folks don’t vote – even in a primary race because I feel so lucky to live in a country that gives every citizen, the right to vote!). If you are not registered, please register to vote and please vote on Tuesday, September 4th for the primaries. Here is a list of candidates for each party: (If I have forgotten anyone, please email me so I can correct the post)

I dropped by the election office at City Hall today to request an absentee ballot. There seemed to be a steady crowd and I was really impressed with how friendly, professional and energetic the staff was. Everyone was smiling and happy to be helpful to all of us in line.
That’s no small feat in a government office.
As an unenrolled voter, I’m able to select which primary I will vote in. This year, I’m pulling a Democratic ballot.
I’ve made up my mind in every contest except DA. Anyone want to try and persuade me?
I’m with Donna Patalano for Middlesex DA. Donna will lead the office in implementing much needed progressive criminal justice reforms to ensure that everyone is treated fairly. Having been both a prosecutor and defense attorney, she understands the racial and economic inequities that exist in our criminal justice system. As DA, she will lead on bail and sentencing reform, focus on victims and witnesses, build a conviction integrity program, and expand community-based restorative justice programs. She’s been endorsed by Scott Harshbarger, Democracy for America, Progressive Democrats of Lowell, Our Revolution Arlington, Progressive Massachusetts and the UWUA Local 369 as well as City Councilors from Wakefield, Watertown and Waltham, and Aldermen and School Committee members of Somerville and Waltham City Councilor Bob Logan. Donna is the true progressive candidate in this race and I’m proud to support her and ask you to join me in supporting her candidacy. More information on Donna Patalano can be found at: Donna4DA.com
The list of actual contested races should include the Republican Primary for Senator opposing Elizabeth Warren.: Geoffrey Diehl, Beth Lindstrom and John Kingston.
