From Paul Levy’s “Not Running A Hospital” blog..
While the world at large focuses on the Supreme Court arguments about the national health care law, my neighbors will get to hear a thoughtful discussion hosted by the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce on the topic, “What you need to know about cost control, quality and value in health care.”
The forum takes place next Wednesday, March 28th, 7:30-9:30 a.m. at
Mt. Ida College (777 Dedham St, Newton). Panelists include Dr. Michael Jellinek. President, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Andrew Dreyfuss, CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield, MA, Charles Baker, Principal at General Catalyst Partners and former CEO at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Registation information here.
Really great event today. Great panel and lots of good participation.
Was there anyone on the panel who depends on Commonwealth Care, or users of health insurance provided by employers. etc. From this report, it also appears that it was an all male panel. Given the assault on women’s healthcare in recent months, that there wasn’t a female voice on the panel is an unacceptable oversight.
