The Elliot Street-Central Ave bridge is expected to reopen to cars and pedestrians as early as Dec. 11 – and hopefully by no later than Dec. 15, Wicked Local Newton reports.

But until the Bridge is really open, it’s still important to partronize the businesses on both sides of the River who have been hurt by the closing. For instance, shop for holiday presents at the shops in the Mill Falls complex. Buy gas and get your car fixed at the Echo Bridge Service Station on Chestnut Street in Upper Falls. Eat at Dunn Gaherin’s and the Echo Bridge Restaurant. Buy newspapers and beer and wine at the Three-in-One Superette on Elliot Street in Upper Falls.
etc., etc., etc.

Yay!
That is definitely cause for celebraton in Upper Falls so that’s just what we’Re planning to do.
On Sat Sept 17 we’re planning a big public bridge-is-back party/parade. We’re aiming for big, goofy, and fun. So far we’ve lined up a,miniature horse, giant heads and puppets, a fire engine, a kazoo choir … and we’re just getting started ;-).
More details to come as the date gets closer.
@Jerry – are you really waiting until September? Or did you mean 2 weeks from today, Saturday December 17?
@mgwa – Yes, Dec 17. Thanks for the correction!!
I’m happy to see that I’m maintaining my near perfect record of always getting dates wrong.
@Jerry – glad to be of service. Is the miniature horse for the parade the one that made an escape in Needham this week?
