   As usual, the curb cuts at the intersection of Erie and Hartford in Newton Highlands are completely inaccessible (the pile of snow at the one closer to Rt. 9 is usually huge by the end of the winter.)

     Just arrived home and shoveled. The streets were clear, the shoveling was easy. I understand that the governor called a snow emergency, but it certainly didn’t feel like a storm where closing City Hall was warranted. Closing schools, yes. Closing all non-essential municipal functions? Not so sure.

     Businesses and residents take their cues from these shut downs and Arron Goldman robocalls and stay home and/or close early. That leads to a lot of lost productivity and sales.
