Unlike the 2013 bear this year’s mammal has its own Twitter feed.
I was putting up a lawn sign in Thompsonville and imagine my surprise when I see a bunch of environmental police and a channel 7 news van.
I was sitting on my deck in New Hampshire about a month ago. A mature bear walked across the road from the woods and ambled down my driveway about 20 feet from me. He didn’t pay much notice and kept moving toward the grassy meadow nearby.
He had no need to bother me. The authorities have a difficult task finding the bear as he will be on the move most of the time. I just hope people don’t panic when they see a bear. Keep still and wait for him to leave the area. I sure hope they don’t shoot him/her.
This may be the bear we saw last week. We live on the Wakefield/Melrose/Saugus line which is 13 miles from this part of Newton, as the crow flies. It was eating acorns in the side yard late at night and ran off as soon as it saw the car headlights pulling in. The bear was not at all aggressive, it ran right away at the first sign of people.
It may have been someone in their Halloween costume.
Perhaps the bear and residents in the area have a common cause, and the bear simply wanted to keep ugly dinosaurs away!
Heard this morning that one of my lawn signs disappeared on Webster right near Rowe. Homeowner thinks it blew away, but I suspect the bear!
