There will be a ribbon cutting for Newton Highlands Bandstand Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Alderman John Rice has ordered clear skies for the occasion. Hang around after the ceremony for a concert featuring the 8-piece Latin-Salsa-Jazz horn band Gringo Kings, followed by a screening on Wreck-It Ralph at dark.
The building of this structure a required a lot of help and donated services by a lot of people. Stop by and give the people who made this happen a big hand.
Many thanks to Commodore Builders, it’s owner Joe Albanese and the rest of his guys who donated so much time and professional effort to constructing this bandstand. It was a pleasure talking with all of them a week or so ago at the construction site. This never would have happened without the vision of John Rice and Janice Bourque and the generous support that Commodore provided.
What a happy night for Newton Highlands! This is so awesome; I’m looking forward to experiencing this soon!
Not to jinx this – But is that the sun I see out yonder window?
PS – Want to underline the thanks to Commodore. Joe and his team have been great community boosters for some time. From the personal side, they also provided a temporary home for my small firm when we first started up four years ago. We loved being their tenant.
And a wonderful ribbon cutting ceremony it was!
