Marcia Tabenken and School Committee chairwoman Claire Sokoloff, representing Building Newton’s Future, which backs the proposed Proposition 2½ overrides, and Joshua Norman and Traute Marshall, with Moving Newton Forward, which opposes the proposals, participated in an online debate at the Boston Globe yesterday.
You can read the full ‘debate’ here.
While I applaud the Boston Globe for hosting the event, I found the mechanic’s of the event very confusing and frustrating. If you read the log, you can see the time stamps are disjointed. There were multiple threads developing and the screen kept jumping , which hindered the ability to read the conversation.
I know at least 3 comments are missing from the log: 2 of mine and one from a person named Jeff, to which I took exception. Who knows how many more are missing.
I hope there are more events because there was good information provided by both sides. Maybe next time the mechanics will be fixed.
