I organized a walk of the Upper Falls Loop trail a few weeks back. We had a good group and a fine walk, so I thought I’d organize a different longer walk for this Sunday. Here are the details:
* We’ll meet on the Newton side of the top of Echo Bridge at 1 PM. If you drive there you can park on Summer St or other nearby side streets.
* The route will be a 5 to 6 mile loop.
* 3/4 of the route will be off road, 1/4 on streets.
* The weather should be good (high 50’s and breezy) but it will have rained over Saturday night so the trails could be a bit damp in spots so wear sensible shoes for that.
* A lot of it is pretty flat but there are significant hills in a few places.
* The route is
– Meet at Echo Bridge
– Down stairs, down Ellis St to Rt 9
– Follow trails the length of Quinnobequin Rd
– Go under Rt 95 and up to Rt 16
– Follow Wellesley’s Charles River Path to Sudbury aqueduct at the Wellesley siphon
– Follow Sudbury aqueduct through Needham back to Echo Bridge
I hope to see you there. If you plan to come send me an email ([email protected]) so I’ll have an idea of how many people to expect.
Jerry – how did the walk turn out? Sorry I missed it, sounds like a great route.
Sorry you missed it. It was a a great walk.
We had 10 or 12 people. They were a great sociable crew and the weather was ideal for a walk.
Good to hear!
