Took pictures of the different signs posted on stores around Newton Centre, yesterday. Devastating. Especially when considered en masse, these often heartfelt notes from business owners to customers really brings home the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our local economy.
I only took pictures in Newton Centre. I assume the scene is the same across the city.
For now, I’ve posted the pictures on Twitter. I’ll update this post with some or all of the pictures at some point.
The impact of our COVID-19 response on small businesses cannot be overstated. This thread collects the signs on stores across Newton Centre, which is a ghost town.
I offer without editorial comment, other than to say this is heartbreaking.
