Here is my solution to this toilet paper problem: Passover is coming up and the markets are filled with matzah. I recommend placing the matzah by the toilet paper and pushing matzah sales as people buy toilet paper. Could “flatten the curve” and solve the problem.
Looks like I got my oil change a week early.
My car started making an intermittent rattly noise. I assumed it was some plate or something that had come loose in the engine compartment. A few days went by. I was planning on taking in in on the weekend. It seemed to be getting more frequent and louder. I was leaving my house to go to the office in Haverhill and heard the noise. On my way out I swung by the Echo Bridge Mobil. I said to Mike “can you take a listen to this. I just want to know if I can wait til Friday to deal with it.”
Mike came out and said OK
“Start it up”
“TURN IT OFF”
“Open the hood”
… “You’ve got no oil”
so I had an oil change …. rather a refill.
I didn’t get one damn roll of toilet paper but he did keep me from destroying my engine so I guess I’m good.
A couple great examples I’ve seen of local companies who have quickly developed new ‘social isolation’ business models:
(1) Hipstitch in West Newton is now offering project kits to be completed at home. Kits can be picked up in store or delivered. More info here.
(2) Russo’s in Watertown has a new program where customers can order a ‘box’ online, drive up and have the box brought out to there car. Boxes are available in two sizes and contain a set variety of fruits, vegetables, bread, and other items. More info here.
Maybe not as humorous as Echo Bridge Mobil’s new business model, but great to see nonetheless!
Highland Optical is currently open until 3pm each day this week. They are doing deliveries and I believe also pick ups in case anyone breaks their glasses. Great local business.
@Jerry. Better than the time the incoming tides on the Cape engulfed your classic car.
@Bob Burke – Yeah. I’m not too good with cars 😉
Does anyone know whether NewMo will adapt and provide rides earlier in the morning? Some seniors I’ve spoken to mentioned they’re unable to take advantage of the grocery stores’ “Seniors Only” early morning shopping hours because they rely on NewMo, which doesn’t begin operating until 8 a.m.
Does Echo Bridge Mobil still have a license to sell guns?
@Michael – Huh??
