Add the Parking Ban to the list of things that was never really necessary, like how the TSA is now allowing larger bottles of hand sanitizer through security – or how large numbers of workers actually *can* work from home without problems.
For sure, the Parking Ban is incoherent strategy.
I was at an aldermanic committee meeting, probably PS&T, years ago when the then police chief defended the ban on the grounds that it hurt law enforcement, because bad guys with guns could hide behind parked cars.
We need to have a lot less parking on our city streets, year round. And, we need to have a good system for calling a snow emergency.
But, a blanket ban is ridiculous.
Disclosure: I forgot to pull one of the cars into the driveway recently and got a ticket. Paid it, but not happily.
