Friday morning’s scheduled annual Newton Political Roast has been cancelled out of concern for the Covid-19 situation.
For our elected officials, this brings two forms of relief.
- They will not unnecessarily be mingling in a public gathering with the threat from this worrisome virus growing by the day.
- They will not unnecessarily be exposing themselves to heaps of abuse and ridicule from our two scheduled hosts – Greg Reibman and Josh Krintzman.
We hate to waste all that good material. Maybe we’ll have to get to work on a Skype version of the event.
Be well everyone … and if you see any of our elected officials in the coming days, no handshakes, just a friendly kick in the shin.
Good decision. I know this whole thing is discouraging, but that is our life for a while to come.
On abuse and ridicule, there are so many forums and possibilities! I see a YouTube in Krintzman’s and Reibman’s future . . .
I’m hoping we can do St. Patrick’s Day in April or May, once we’re through this.
